Permesso di Soggiorno

Yes, we gave it a lightning once-over when we looked at le Marche. Senigallia's no better/worse than the umpteen other Adriatic holiday towns. In July and - esp - August it heaves. Party central. Other times of the year, the coastal strip rather sad and deserted. Coast itself has great sand, flat, straight, featureless, boring. Nice for walking though. Town itself is OK...a few nice-looking residential areas. Seemed to have all the usual amenities. But like all holiday towns everywhere, the bars, restaurants etc can be very seasonal. Temperature very very humid in summer months. Aircon would be an absolute must. Winter very mild. Didn't get around to checking prices because a half-hour cruising round enough to confirm this wasn't the town for us. Come to that, neither was the seaside anywhere. But experience shows that property values start off astronomical next to the sea and decrease in ratio with the distance you move inland. Then they start rising again when you move into the Marche hills. As a region - lovely. But the best, most attractive and accessible properties seemed long-gone and prices high and getting higher.

I don't live in Senigallia but BF does so I spend a lot of time there. I like it and would have no problem living there but I have to add I am a beach person and am happy as long as I live someplace where I can walk to the beach. The center is pretty, nice squares, shops, cafes and restaurants, not dead in winter (if you want dead in winter come to Numana ). If you live anywhere near the beach or center a car is a total pain in the summer, once it is parked it stays there as you'll never find another parking place and driving anywhere takes twice as long as it does to walk or ride a bike. People are generally friendly and open-minded, their nickname is "half Jewish, half rascal" due to the large Jewish community, don't know where the rascal part comes from. If you have any more questions fire away!
