This is a fully restored medieval house in the historical center of a Calabrian village perched above the Ionian Sea. The rooms feature chestnut beams, doors, and windows, and the kitchen is completely in tile.
The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a balcony with an amazing sea and mountain view. It's within walking distance of every amenity in the village, and there is ample parking in the main square.
The village itself, Badolato, has a grocery store, tobacco store, post office, 24-hour medical clinic, pharmacy, barber, 2 bar/cafes, 2 restaurants, and locals who often welcome new faces with samples of homemade limoncello and suppresata. The closest airport is Lamezia Terme, about an hour's drive away.

In southern Italy (if you aren't familiar with it), there is often a "Superiore" village on a hill/mountain and a corresponding "Marina" or "Lido" village on the sea.
In this case, the house is in Badolato Superiore, and the train station is in Badolato Marina, about 5 km down the mountain--a 5-10 minute drive depending on how well you calculate the windy turns.
There is also a bus that connects the two, of course.

Incidentally, I also know of a much larger place available; it's currently a restaurant, but it could be converted into a decent-sized house since it has a second level (currently empty), large cantina, and beautiful terrace.
