Welcome to our community. I hoe we can help with your planning and moving. As for Tuscany being LIttle America . . . if that is the case then why did it tale my starting this site to get to know other Americans in my area? I tell ya, I started expats in Italy because I missed talking English after 11 years of being here. Cristina Please fill out an Interview HEREBecome a Premium Member and help keep the site going!

Cristina, I joined this site after living here for about 3 years and not meeting another american or ANY english speaker for that matter. Some of the folks I've met recently through this site have been here for years without meeting other americans, or making friends! Since I've joined, I've met so many wonderful people, and am making important new friendships...and my life is being enriched - by fellow expats from all over, who are helping me make Italy my new home by sharing their growing pains, wisdom, experience, and good humour. Welcome to all the newcomers, wherever you hail from!

'OUCH!'See, that old saying IS true - "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time". (the sad story of my life ) I did try hiding behind the sofa, but (damn) you found me.....

Well thank you for all greetings, I am happy to be here. As for 'Little America' this was not my expierence, but I was in a very small town. I'm not sure how long I will be in Tuscany anyway (after those posts! just kidding.) I am working the summer in Cinque Terre and will begin teaching English in La Spezia or Genoa after the season. As of now, not a permanant move, but there is an Italian man (isn't there always!)to throw in the mix, soand I look forward to talking with more of you. we will see how things go. Again thank you for the greetings. I look forward to talking more. [COLOR:BLUE]Well thank you for all greetings, I am happy to be here. greetings! welcome to the sight!! You are going to a place that I love!! Tuscany! I hope to be visiting that area when about the time you are moving there.. let us know how the move process is going.. it seems to be different for each person who relocates there... Good luck! you have all the experience from the Expats already there and all the encouragement from us here in the US longing for our time to come there! ask questions even those you feel are silly or unimportant! Someone on the sight almost always has an answer or suggestion. Again! welcome aboard!! Enjoy the ride!! Ciao! MamaMia from No of Seattle!

Hey new girl...on the off chance we have a similar experience... Noticed you are Texan and were in a very small Tuscan town....very similar to my own experience... Did you study abroad in this little town? Or how did you come to be there?
