In the working life area somehow we started talking about skiing. So I thought it better to start a new discussion on life in the North of Italy. HERE are pictures of last years tour of the Sella Ronda in the Dolomites. The weather was not perfect that day but I think you can apperciate the beauty of the area just the same.

I got distracted by your other photo's too! Looks like you are living the "Dolce Vita" up there!

Well if you saw it, the picture of Luisa and Giovanni with the basket of giant strawberrys is from Carlsbad, California, but otherwise the life is pretty sweet up here.

The other day a friend who has kids in our school asked me to take his son to the ski lesson in the afternoon. In the morning at school we met to exchange the skis and stuff. He has a ski box on the top of his car with all the families skis in it. It was open, he asked if I wanted to go for a coffee. Sure I said but don't you want to close the ski box. Nah, don't worry about it he said. Just an example of how things are a bit different here. Yes everything was untouched when we got back 20 minutes later.

Is this in Belluno? I can imagine this in a really rural area - lived in a few in the UK where it was possible to leave a door unlocked and still have all your possessions intact when you returned - but a town I just can't imagine it! Maybe I should be looking to the hills again!

Yes, Belluno, 35,000 residents, the capital of the provencia. And we are quite in the middle of the city not out in the country.

It does look like beautiful ski country up there. I would love to go try it out sometime.
