hi guys....is long time we dont post something in this wonderfull forum but we was busy and working a lot for our new life....
Me (Bernardo, italian living in Carrara, tuscany) and my partner (Paul the oregonian) have started new life together here in italy almost two years ago, April 2006. This two year come after we met on internet and we felt in love in cinque terre, after the date we start a relation based on fly ticket for almost two years when we decided that have a flat were live was less expensive. We decide to live in italy in my town a this is the way. We bought a flat in the historical down town and we move in july 2006. After this start our trouble, living like illegal as italian law dont allow gay couple and dont give to my bf a permit to stay. Anyway we found the way to have dignitous life and we start to take care about the healt of Paul with the wonderfull italian healt system. We had a STP card like illegal foreign citizen that allow him to have the best assistance for free. Yes no money!!!! We went to Pisa University clinical hospital and he had gastric by pass, two plastic surgery and a hip protesis. Now after two years a new life is started for us and last week also we got information from prefettura that the nulla osta for job is ready....HE WILL BE MY DOMESTIC!!!!....soon we will have to go to san francisco at italian embassy to have his visa that will permit him to have a normal life in italy like citizen. but we are very happy that this old country made our dream come true referring to the healt!
I hope to be more present now in this forum and if u guys need some help, know that our door and computer is always open. A great kiss Bernardo & Paul

Bernardo and Paul:
Congratulations on the upcoming move and on your relationship! May I say you two make a very cute couple and there is nothing more joyful then seeing two people in love finally reunited. I had two guy friends (a couple) who rented a house from my mom here in Berkeley, and one of them was from England. They had to both move back to England because there was no way to get immigration papers through a domestic partnership- what a shame, really- but they are happy living in London at least! I wish you all the happiness and joy in this world, and look forward to updates on your life together in Italy. Auguri! Jen

you have to be illegal and not have any kind of visa or permit to stay. Also is not good for people travelling for tourism. You must live in italy illegally, believe me is not so nice to be like that but you are treated like a citizen and in the hospital u can have all the assistance that u need. You can also reneview every six mounths. Also the hospital or the doctor dont inform police about the file for privacy reason. You have to go to the ASL of your city and ask for STP card declaring that you are in italy illegally and you dont have money to pay doctors or medicine and u need assistance for healt problems. If u want know more ask on private to me.

We hope that the **** this year dont win the new election as the formal fascist people will not allow this anymore.

Thanks for the info on the carta Straniero Temporaneamente Presente. It's a great benefit and I too hope the right doesn't win and end the program.

Best of luck to you both.

no is not correct, Lazio have deleted like all italy regions only for new european coalition country such Poland, romanian. All this new european country are european citizen so they need a different card that is valid in european community.
