Whilst I too appreciate the lovely sunny days, I have to say that it’s bucketing it down here too today. It can’t be above 10 degrees either.

Raining here too, though it's a tad warmer than a few weeks ago. Personally I like cold and clear- hope it comes back soon!

I love those unexpected warm days too but I hate the zanzare that they bring. I killed two that managed to get into my apartment last weekend and two last night. Mosquitos in January. EEK! ugghhhh!

It would be just too weird to start putting nets up now!!

Cats and dogs here too, I play at eccentric English and stick on my ski jacket with big hood - can't be doing with getting soaked and cold in a puffa with a brolly - why don't they make down filled coats waterproof?!

Are you actually having one of those "unexpected warm days?" We are near the Tuscan border and it hasn't been over 10 degrees in forever and raining off and on for even longer! I'd love to have a sunny day--even if it was still cold!

OH's sister in Capri has been swimming almost every day since Christmas then sunbathes for an hour or so. She says temps have been early 20's if you get a sheltered spot but elsewhere on the island it can be freezing! When we are there in the winter we head out of the house in layers of clothes, go to the other side of the island where it is sheltered, strip off and bask in the heat, it's unbelievable and I love it!

Think yourselves lucky folks, I couldn't even get my car door open yesterday as it had iced over so 10 degrees would be positively balmy for us in Glasgow at the mo!

I'm so sad you are in Glasgow, not Capri! Wink It makes me feel somewhat better as I sit listening to the rain bouncing down on the roof!

Today in Glasgow, we have had a monsoon of rain, roads flooded badly and it's just taken me 1 1/2 hours to get back from OH's which is normally a 20 minute journey - it was like driving through a river! OH's driveway was flooded and I had to wade through 5 inches of water in my UGGS to get in my car, they're ruined! We're back to Capri 18th Feb thank goodness so hoping we see a bit of sun as it's so depressing here.

In Nervi, the sun has come back again after three days of pouring rain. Its gorgeous today, and the passegiata mare is full of people once again just taking in a bit of sun or stopping for a gelato and enjoying the sound of the crashing waves. Everything smells incredible too and a few wildflowers are starting to peak out.

Think we´ll be having lunch on that one sunny section I have on my terrace - gotta take advantage of these days when you can.

Soggy Uggs - smell like wet dog for days - more depressing than the rain! I have new trainers with embroidery on - I must be turning Italian as I won't wear them in the rain in case the stitching gets dirty! My son however, wears his new suede Puma's in all weather - how long before I hear the cry for more?! He played football in the fields in his last pair - Decathlon trainers next time I think!

Alyson, not only do I have Uggs which smell like wet dog, I have a wet dog that smells like wet dog - I've just had to throw him out in the garden to do his business (he hates the rain) and he's came back in all stinky! Talking of Uggs and sorry to change the subject, have they caught on in Italy yet? I ask because I wore mine a couple of winters ago in Capri and had people stopping me asking where I got my boots. I did get strange looks from some people who had obviously never seen that kind of boot before, I think you either love them or hate them I suppose - me I love them and have never got them off, OH's heating went on the blink last week and I had them on with my jammies! We were a sight on the couch watching the tv - me in my jammies and uggs with big bathrobe, him in jammies, big socks, bathrobe and woolly hat!

Great photo's! The last one is definitely a good addition to the topic of happiness *IS*!

Ragazza - I can get them for my 3 year old and the prices aren't too shabby for either of us! But my son tells me the girls at his British school can't run in them and they(Uggs - not the girls at his school, although..) make my legs look like tree trunks! But there are plenty around in all shades! You should try drying them with a hairdryer like the Italian guy in the Mamma's Boy's thread!

Still tippling here but there is a smell of spring in the air, not just sogginess!

I've still not seen Uggs around. However, my sister in law was asking me about them at Christmas as she noticed in the glossy mag she was reading all the actresses like Sienna etc wearing them with dresses! I still don't reckon they will catch on though because the concept of comfort + practicality just doesn't match up against the dreaded Bella Figura, at least in Lecce.

I have tried spraying my Uggs with the waterproofing spray they flog (I buy mine direct from the Aussie website, much cheaper) but doesn't seem to help much.

Fantastic warm day here today, with a smell of spring. Won't last, but hey ho - at least it shows we aren't far off the warm weather again!

Mrs C - you should try Fi if you are ever up this way - they prices really weren't that bad. I'll have a look next time I'm in town and let you know!

I can appreciate the original post better today; Not a cloud in the sky and 7 degrees just now, with a high forecast of 17 degrees. And it's the weekend! party01

Well, a phenomenon happened in Glasgow today. A bright yellow thing was briefly seen in the sky. I've contacted the police and newspapers to report it but they told me not to be so stupid, it was probably a ufo. Mystery solved.

On the bright side, we have no rain today but it's coming back tomorrow yaaay! Wink
