Hello everyone

I just wanted to put this post out here because i think it might help some people. I know how hard it is at first moving here hell i even put a homesick post on here some months back. But now i have been active im much happier. Smiler

There are lots of groups on facebook for Italy from expat groups, language exchange where you can meet up with other english speakers, make some friends, get out and about (and not just in Rome). And its nice to have some more people to talk to on MSN/Facebook who are in the same country as me. wine

I found joining an italian class has help alot as well people there are friendly and helpful and at the same stage of learning italian as me! so i dont feel so silly not understand some things the teacher says! elefant

Its really motivated me into learning and understanding italian. Plus i feel like being more active, exploring Rome and even applying to an agency for babysitting jobs!

My BF who is italian is happier to as he was worried about me settling in and feared i would go back to England. But he can see how much more settled i am, happier and we have been began talking about starting a family in the near future because things are so much better for the both of us.And moving to another area of Rome for more space. lovies3d

I know its hard at first for everyone and it will be, but once we get out and about it so much better. I felt heaps better once i started talking to people from the expat facebook group. Smiler The internet can open a wealth of oppitunites if you search well. Even volunteer work here can open doors, and help make friends.

I feel so much more postive and i just wanted to share it with everyone!

Hee hee do you have a facebook?

Make a facebook google the website, once you have one if you look on your page to the left it says , photos, groups, click on groups then use the search bar at the top just put in italy or Rome, or where ever you are in italy and it should come up with all the groups in your area.

Theres quite a few for Rome and alot of people are members off all of them so you can pick and choose the ones you like or just join all of them! Theres always something going on in the week for the Rome ones click, meeting in a bar, going out for dinner, etc etc and you just go to the ones you want to bellyemoticon

I'm glad you are feeling better.

I think it is only natural when you make such a big move to have "buyer's remorse" about it for a while. As with anything you have to give it some time before you make your mind up about it.

I'm on facebook as well any of you can search my email which is listed on my profile here I believe. Smiler
