Charm of Italian men is lust in translation

Quite amusing. Especially the bit about getting hit on in the gym. Is it just me, or are approx 80% of people in Italian gyms not there to work out?

It's not just you. I noticed that too. I am the only one that actually sweats at my gym. I asked my husband what was going on and he said that most people go there to hook up. That explains the mounds of make up and perfectly coordinated gym suits. And for the guys, the heavy smog of cologne and gold chain. Confused I don't get it.

What? I'm going to the wrong gym or maybe it's a small town thing. Everyone at my gym is betrothed!!
And right now it's packed with people because they are getting ready for beach season. They don't seem to work out too hard but they definitely are there to work out.

It may be the difference between city and town because here everyone was at the gym to exercise. Some worked out harder than others, true, but everyone was exercising.

I have both groups at my gym...the beautiful women who make-believe that they are working out, old men in heavy fisherman-knit cardigans reading the latest John Grisham novels while pedaling on stationary bikes, and the gym warriors - territorial "he-men" who are insulted/shocked by the women who dare to invade the weight-lifting area. It is an incredibly entertaining experience. (I am one of the not so beautiful women who is there to sweat. Smiler)
