The post cited was meant to highlight the many possible causes* of illegal immigration, but in that there were deletions in that post and almost total deletions of other related posts that were referred to, it does look pretty screwball to have it re-cited in this discussion. {Kind of a Dan Rather situation. Mistakes made- and then things taken out of context and brought back to haunt one. hungover}

quote:
*“It is in nobody’s long-term interest to have a global economy that perpetuates social, economic, and environmental injustice.”
....the European Union has proceeded with (Free Trade Agreement) negotiations with (developing) countries by pushing forward negotiating texts that will undermine the ability of poor countries to effectively govern their economies, protect their poorest people, improve livelihoods, and create new jobs. Going beyond the provisions negotiated at a multilateral level, the EU is making requests that would impose far-reaching, hard-to-reverse rules in the areas of market access, agriculture, services and intellectual property. ... rules that undermine development. .... In all of these negotiations, the EU, like the US, is failing to put development first.
Thus, more illegal immigration. Duh.
But, wasn't this just about a band? What a wierd place to insert the other post. huh?

Thank you. I thought I was just posting a mildly interesting article.

When the other post was first posted I thought it was inserted in a weird place too.

there were deletions in that post

The only deletion was the gratuitous use of my name, replaced with the word "some".

It's a shame to see the evolution of this thread. This is going nowhere, I am closing this thread. Sorry Primina.
