I would love to get out of my house and work/study somewhere, but there's no place to my knowledge to do so like there is in the US (except for the library). Are there any cafes that allow someone to sit and work on a laptop for a few hours and drink a few macchiatos? I miss having a little noise and people watching while working.

Do you need the wi-fi connection in a cafe? Or is it unnecessary? There is a wi-fi cafe on via d' Benci and, unless it was you, there was a girl doing what you want to in Mama's Bakery on via della Chiesa yesterday.

That's so funy you should mention Mama's - I have psoken with the owner (Matt) and he said they are thinkngi of wifi in the future. Problem is that I feel bad as there arent too many tables...and it's a little far from where I'm at in the Centro Storico. I have been to Naima, but it's not very comfotable for studying (really nice atmospehere though for relaxing or grabbing a drink). What is te name of the one on Via dei Benci?

We have probably crossed paths! I live round the corner from Mama's - luckily!! Their quiche is great too and no I'm not on commission!

I don't know the name of the cafe, sorry, but you can't miss it. It is up the river end, with your back to the river, left hand side in a little Piazza which is still on via dei Benci. Well before Santa Croce. I think there is a kebab shop almost opposite on the other side. Put it this way, if you walk on the left-hand side coming from the river and you get to Kome you have gone too far!! Wink
