Does anyone know where I could find candles similar to the Yankee brand here? Yankee candles are kind of a “designer” candle. They smell wonderful and come in a million different scents. I admit I haven’t looked hard for top notch candles here but the ones I have found leave much to be desired in terms of smell and quality. Any suggestions? I am especially wondering about stores in either the Veneto or in Rome. Thanks!

ex-"Veronese" here...

I think I know exactly where you live! That umbrella that got knocked over I'm pretty sure is my friend's coffee bar (is it modern inside?). His name is "Nico". Stop in and freak him out by telling him that "Angel sends his regards."

There used to be a nice candle place next Piazza Erbe but it's long gone...the prices were incredibly high for good candles.

Yes that bar is very modern but I haven't really been inside (the shame). It is right next to a barber shop and a Dior boutique. I will have to go in now!

Wow, talk about a small world.....

PLEASE, do stop in and say hi; Nico is a great guy. He speaks English fairly well and knows just about everyone in Verona. He's going to kill me for not being in touch with him...it's just been so busy re-settling back home here in NJ (we lived in Verona 2005-2008 June).

Hi,Jessica,
This seemed really strange to me, but we have a couple of euro stores here in Vicenza that sell the Yankee Candle brand tartburner candles! Don't know where you can find the big jar candles, but if you have a tartburner, maybe check your euro stores in Verona. I have also seen them in a store we have called MaxiMax- I know they have one in Padova, so maybe in Verona, too...I was lucky enough to go on the Vicenza military base once with a military friend and saw them in the store there (they are just as expensive as back home!!) But I think they are really the best!! Smiler

Thanks Kristen! That is crazy you found them in a euro store! That's the last place I'd think to look! I will see if I can find them here. My husband has access to the base store in Naples (he is with NATO) so I will look there when we go. Thanks again!

Anna: Do you know the name of the store?

Thanks gals!
