how the heck do you say that?

example:

"wow! this is so cool!"

"ya, i guess"

any suggestions?

my boyfriend came up with "si, dai." but i HATE that phrase.... it sounds so indifferent... but i guess so does "ya, i guess."

whoa. my valley girl is coming out.... like, totally.

How about a shrug and "A me non sembra così"? It's funny, but trying to think of a translation for "ya, I guess" makes me see what a passive-aggressive comment it is! I never thought of it that way before.

Also "immagino!" or "certo!" in a sarcastic way is good.

I usually say: Si,vabbe' or eh,vabbe' with a sarcastic smile on my face.

For me it would have to be:
"Può darsi...." (said with a slight shrug)
= 'It may be' OR 'Possibly'

haha. psyche! thanks for the suggestions. reading it in italian makes me realize just how awful of a phrase it is.... it's passive aggressive and sarcastic and icky. why do i continue to say it so much in english?? ahh.. oh well -- i guess i just need to continue to bulk up my english vocabulary as well as my italian...
