Hi,

Would just like to get some info on some good places to visit in sourthern Sardinia. I will be there for 4 days and want to make the most of it and to forget Milano. Good beach for swimming, few bars and relaxed vibe would be good. Thanks.

I lived in southern Sardinia for 5 years near Santa Margherita di Pula; my all round favorite beach was Chia. A few bars and restaurants, a couple of hotels, about 2 Km of fine white sand in 2 crescents and a small island about 20 meters off shore. One of the nicest beach locations I’ve seen anywhere and, as a 35 year surfer, I’ve seen loads!

Take a look at Villasimius. Gorgeous area. Our friends took us for 5 days at the end of June. Water was fantastic. There a many wide, sandy beaches to choose from, but you must drive to them, unless you rent something near a beach. One beach had an amazing rock formation, very interesting.
Very mellow area, but there is a village center for a good couple restaurants, etc., and stores for anything you need. The cheese is great and there is a goat cheese factory that makes out of this world soft pecorino and mozarella di pecoro nearby as well. Very good wine as well.
