As some of you already know, I'm taking my family to Italy in April. We'll be spending 3-4 days in Rome before continuing south, and during the time in Rome we plan to attend a soccer game - we're looking at Lazio-Fiorentina on April 22. Of course there IS the Lazio-Roma derby on April 29 too which is terribly tempting... Roll Eyes

To the question: This site tells a bit about the Olympia stadium and its different sections.

Now, the prices are very different in the different sections, and I'm kind of wondering why Smiler
How big a difference is there, depending on where you sit?

They are all seated places, right? scared

Does anyone have any experience on this?

I can't see the prices on the Roma site...
Anyway, in Naples, the 'tribuna' sides are more expensive than the other areas because you get a better view - even though all the stadium is seated yes.
It depends on the view of the gamw as to the price you pay. In Naples - prob the same for Rome, the cheaper areas are full of 'livlier' supporters (singing, chanting etc), whereas the higher priced seats, are normally occupied by the more sedatory spectators.
Maybe some Roma fans can give you more advice as to where to sit with your family.

Where are the Lazio fans?
Annika,
I've been to a couple of games in Lecce (back when they were in Serie A!) and the "curva" wether it's north or south is pretty wild. Like Delina says these are the real fans and they are wild. The first time I went I bought the cheap seats and I was in the middle of them. It was a blast but there was no room to sit down! I don't care what the ticket said (I don't remember if it had a seat number on it) We were standing and yelling the whole time and this is Lecce. I can only imagine Lazio being even crazier. And against Fiorentina!
I would pay a little more and go on the sides if you want a more relaxing event. After touring around Rome I don't think you'll have the energy to keep up with the fans for over 90 minutes.

Yeah, like Jeffo said, the curvas are wild. Maybe if you're going with a small child you should avoid this bit of the stadium. - He'll learn too many bad words I think Smiler
When I went to see Naples play there were seats for everyone in the curva - though we were stood up the whole time, singing along! A real experience!

Thank you!

I found prices from the Lazio-Atalanta match:

Tribuna Onore 99,00 euro;
Tribuna Monte Mario 66,00 euro - ridotti 44,00 euro;
Tribuna TevereTop 49,50 euro - ridotti 33,00 euro;
Tribuna Tevere Laterale 33,00 euro - ridotti 22,00 euro;
Distinti e Curve 15,00 euro.

I think we'll stay away from the curve. eek It's mainly a safety issue; I don't want to risk anything with Alexander so I think we'll keep him away from the craziest tifosi. It'll have to be one of the Tribuna Tevere, probably laterale.

Do you think the kids pay full price?

I wish I could buy the tickets already, but at least now I know what to expect, pricewise.
