Permesso di Soggiorno

Does anyone know if Italian ATMs routinely run out of money during high tourist times? Just this weekend, a friend called from La Spezia where he has been unable to find an ATM with money. He's been told to wait until Monday when the banks open.

Yes. That seems to be pretty normal around here too, especially on a Sunday afternoon in a touristy area, its hard to find a bank machine that hasn´t been completely cleared out. It happens regularly to the machine on the nearby (and busy) corner here in Nervi.

Happens here all the time in summer. Best to get money on Friday or early Saturday. No problem in winter/off-season.
