I'm a bit worried now as I haven't seen a bill for a little while, so maybe the installation of the new meter has effected the cycle. My spreadsheet has a figure of around 24 a month (48 per two monthly bill). Unfortunately I have water heating but not much else - so I shower at the sports centre after training and sometimes heat water for washing up using a kettle (and a camping shower on the balcony in summer!). I don't have dryer, electric oven, freezer, TV, and all bulbs are low energy (even one LED) so that certainly helps.

The one major bill I had included 300+ for somebody else's invoice at a different address, so it does pay to check your bill, and then decline to pay upfront waiting for their promised refund!

I would certainly call the utility company and tell them you think there is an error. You could always check your meter reading against the stated meter reading on the bill or call and ask. I found in Trieste the utility company was quite responsive the mistake and fixed the bill without any problems... You may even want to get some utility professional out to your house to ask advise on what the culprit might be.

I also got similar bill and noticed on back of bill in small print I was listed as non-resident even though I had been living at this address for 2 years. Appears commune databse and enel did not match. I am now told I can seek refund?? We will see. Not sure if this helps, but may pay you just to check.
