HI- we are a family from Ireland who are relocating to Pozzuolo Umbria in the summer. We have 3 children- all girls ages 4, 7 and 8 who will be starting school in the fall and I haven't a clue how to start sorting out schools for them. One of my duaghters is very involved in balleet and dance, the other is very academic (we're not too sure about the yougets- she is just a livewire) does anyone knwo anythign about the schools in or around castiglione del lago, umbria? or about other childrens activities like dance, drama, etc. Any advice welcome- we are excited and terrified! Danica

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the town you'll be moving to in Umbria, or the local or international school opportunities, but I'm sure they will have after school activities for your daughters. As far as the academically-inclined one is concerned, if she attends the local school, she'll probably have lots of academics...a new curriculum in a new language, with lots of homework too! Here in my little town farther south (between Rome and Naples) the school has a couple of after-school optional programs that are fun, then there's an indoor pool nearby where lots of kids take swimming lessons, and a gym where many of the students study dance. I'm sure your town will be similar. Perhaps someone closer can answer you more specifically. I have a son who just turned 7. Yes, the move was exciting... and scarey too!
