Apparently the pizzaioli aren't happy with the prices in good-ole Napoli and have staged their own protest. What I don't understand, however, is the pricing. Prices here in the Napoli suburbs is ~4 euros per Pizza Margherita (others cost more), not ~3€ per SLICE. There's either huge price-gouging in Napoli centro or a typo in the article. (possibly due to Italians each eating their own semi-smaller pizza as opposed to Americans either buying by-the-slice or sharing a whole pizza).

Figures that I find out about it AFTER it happens, and that they do it while the city is basically deserted anyway!

I paid 2 euros for my son's Egyptian pizza today and it was delicious (I know because I had a slice)! I am quickly discovering that in Torino price of pizza and quality have NO correlation, whatsoever. I think the slice thing must have been a typo. Anyway, "pizza a taglio" still NEVER costs over 2 euros a slice unless you're being taken.
