Since I haven't gotten anywhere with the other thread, I decided to start a poll. COme on guys and gals, this is a community and I need feedback. (need a begging graemlin - will find one!)

Would you be willing to write articles for the site?

If we had a content management system where all you would have to do is enter your text as well as you could upload photos and instead of waiting weeks for me (Cristina) to finally getting around to formatting it and uploading it, she could just approve it and voilà, it would be online, would that make the possibility of your writing an article more possible?

Besides, it would get me off my butt. Well, no, it wouldn't. I'd be on my butt at the computer. Only doing something useful for once.

I'd love to write more but just can't find the time...perhaps I'll get round to it in about 10 years time when the little un has grown up.

The only question that I answered truthfully was the third one as I really had no opinion on the others. The Poll required that I answer all or the questions. I am not a writer and for me to come up with something interesting would probably be next to impossible. I do care about other people and hope I didn't offend anyone.

I'm always willing to share my experiences, but would have no idea on a specific subject to write. As well (as I'm sure you've noticed) I tend to write in circles a lot unless I take the time to actually edit it - which is rare for me to remember and/or care enough to do so. So a simple upload program would be great except people would probably be more confussed reading what I write than they were before.

So who are the wiseguys who said I am complaining again?

I just purchased Article Management so we should be good to go in a couple of weeks (have to get it all set up, do templates, etc.).

I had an idea yesterday and thought I should let you all know. Many have said that they would love to write if they had a specific topic. We have posted lists before of things needed (list below) but we also need just about anything to do with real life (how to do laundry in Italy for example). So the list is long and is not specific so I have decided taht once a week I will write a post to name the Topic of the Week and then those who wish to write but need a bit of encouragement can do it. We could also have a thread on a topic and then compile the information for a page.

Anyway, here again is a list I made off the top of my head. If you feel like it, go for it (you can write it in word and then copy it over to AM when it is up and running).

For EU Citizens (we need to fill up this area!)

• moving to Italy
• Getting a permesso
• Joining the SSN
• finding work
• converting your driver's license
• bringing pets over
• etc.

For all

• having a baby
• being pregnant on the SSN
• more info on electrical items
• more info on telephones and internet
• getting visas (we need info from as many different consulates worldwide as possible)
• opening a bank account
• bank information
• driving school
• getting married
• pensions from outside of Italy (getting them and making the most out of them)
• starting a business
• scuola materna, scuola elementare, etc.
• learning the language
• your house buying story
• renting an apartment
• more first person interviews
• etc.

Besides that I would love to hear ideas of what you would like to see on the site.

How many words?

I think a minimum of 400-500 but it really depends. They can be as long as they want.

Hooray - someone else who's 'forgettery' is stronger than thier 'memory '. Finally I've got some class company!!!

P.S. Love the new idea for a 'regular nudge'. Just what was needed I reckon...
