I have moved the politics sub forum to a new section called Premium Members Corner (you must be a premium member to view or post here) and it has been renamed Non Italian Politics. This section is not searchable and not indexed.
I have added a new subforum called Happiness *IS* Italy and this is for all of those wonderful posts about the good things that happen to us here.

I forgot to say above that because we now have a new Non Italian Politics section, posting of non Italian politics will not be tolerated in the public part of the board. While I understand that sometimes other countries policies do affect Italy and the rest of the world, unless it is IUtaly specific, the posts will be deleted or moved to the private section.
I will also set up an Understanding Italian Politics subforum for public view.

I am sorry you feel that way John but since we live in Italy, constant threads about the U.S. policies really have nothing to do with the main goal of this forum which is to help people assimilate in Italy.
That being said, you are a premium member so you can go to the politics section whenever you would like.

I understand your motivation. What I don't understand is why some people have to whine so loudly about various threads when they are under no obligation to read them. I've read their long explanations, but still I don't see the problem nor a reason why people who see or open something they are not interested in can't just move on to something else.
In fact it seems that some of those who seem so happy about the changes are the very ones who perpetuate the argumentative threads. It seems they are saying, well I just can't help myself so please stop me. In that case I guess you have made the right decision.
Quite honestly, I have no problem with the move of the Politics ex-Italy. I just ignore threads that are obviously of no interest in the Politics thread anyway! However, where does European wide politics fit into this. No, I'm not concerned that I can't talk about UK politics - I assume they are banished to the new section too - as I have as much interest in them as I do US politics, but where there is an EU ruling which, for lack of fantastic Italian, I might find easier to understand through a British newspaper, can this be quoted on the new Italy politics only, as EU policy is clearly important in Italian politics.
I like the Happy section and I thought the first contribution was great!

I don't see why not- Italy is in the EU. Italy has representatives in the EU parliament, and the policies they make directly affect Italian citizens. The only difference betwen quoting the policy from a British paper and an Italian paper is the language.
