Is there a way to search the forum for a specific topic without going through every single posting?

Click find. The advanced is good if you don't wish a hundred results.

You can click where it says FIND in the upper tabs (GO-NEW-FIND-etc.) and either just type in a word and search or do an advanced search to check specific information. If you are in a specific forum though, when you click Find it will only check that forum unless you uncheck the part where it says search this forum only.
