I am adding all blogs that we have listed to a new toolbar and in doing so I am checking out all of the blogs and have noticed that many bloggers do not even mention us. Reciprocal link is just that, we link to you, you link to us.
If your blog is listed on our main site or the links section you MUST have a link to expats in your sidebar. All blogs that do not have a link will be removed from the list, links and the toolbar on January 1.
Thanks for your understanding.

I've downloaded the graphic into My Pictures but I can't work out how to combine that and the URL to create a button on my blog. I've tried doing it through "Links" in blogger but there isn't a way to add the graphic, so I am stuck - help!!
You need to get the webaddress of the graphic you have and then use the code for the graphic, subsituting the img link to the correct address and then put that in your template. Let me know if you have a problem or send me the address for the graphic and I will format it for you.

I don't see this as being a good policy. It's another asset of expatsinitaly. Recommending a reciprocal link is a good idea but yanking out people that don't have one isn't.

hmmmm...didn't see mine on the main site/links section...but know it's here on this site somewhere ;-)happy to add a link if it is...but didn't want to re-submit and cause extra work if it's there :-) Thanks!
Stelviorider, I am sorry you feel that way. I just think it is only fair since most have asked to be listed that they in turn add a link to us. 40,000 unique hits each month to the stories and blogs page with over 300,000 click outs from that page means many more visitors for each blog which in turn means revenue as most blogs are commercial (google ads, etc.)

Yeah, I'm confused! What info do you need? I wanted to use the 2nd graphic in the list you show. Do you want me to e-mail you?
I was surprised about the 'Expats' button as I did have it on my side bar (Annika put it there for me), but I think it must have disappeared when I had all those problems when my profile, and part of my 'header' photo, and my photo's all disappeared from the blog earlier in the year. That's when you kindly checked the template etc. out for me and said that there was nothing you could do as it seemed to all be OK....Not knowing HTML I've not managed to solve either of these problems since.
But I have now managed to put another Expats button on my sidebar so hopefully you won't delete me from the list....
My take on it is, as I haven't taken up premium m/ship, why not and what harm does it do to my blog? Plus I like the logo so I think it even adds something.
ok...I'm confused too :-( added the link but I can't get it to show the graphic...is there a way to have that right in the code we copy and paste? (this is what a few others sites I have linked to have done - I didn't need to save anything, etc. - just copy and paste)
Okay, tomorrow I will upload the graphics to a photosharing site and then put the full link in. Sorry for the problems. I should have done this ages ago.

Okay, try this. Copy and paste the code below into your links section/template and then remove the space that is between the < and the first URL and then the space after the last URL before the >:
< URL=http://www.expatsinitaly.com> <img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/12463535@N03/1285650270/" border="0" height="31" width="88" alt="Expats in Italy, ex-pats, assistance for those moving to italy, a forum with loads of information for the newbie or the old hand" /></URL >

Ciao Cristina, I have had a link to Expats ever since day #1 of my blog (oct 06) and have actually written several posts dedicated to explaining what an asset this site is.
I don't have any logos on my sidebar though as I like to keep it uniform - so all my links are just text and links. I just wanted to make sure that this is ok.
Text links are great. Whatever works for all of you.
Thank you so much for posting about us! I don't have time to read blogs as often as I would like normally but after going through all of them yesterday I found a lot of great stuff.
Now we have to find out where some former bloggers are as many have not been updated in a year.

Guess I'm a bit angry, I've had a link to expats on my blog for many months and I was under the impression that you had put a link to mine on expats. But I checked today and don't see it. Did you take it off, what's up?
Hi John, I checked the thread where everyone requested to be added to the list and didn't see a post from you so that is why it is not included on the Blogs and Stories link. You can see the thread where we discussed this
