For those of you that use Fuzzi Bunz, I ran across this website. They are in the U.S., but are having a special where if you spend $100 or more they give you free International Shipping. This is a great deal! Here's the site: www.clothdiaperoutlet.com

No problem! I have a couple of questions for you who cloth diaper! Do you use a top loader washing machine or a front loader for cloth diapering? Oh, and what kind of laundry detergent do you use there? Thanks!

Mine (as most washers here) is a front loader. I wash with Bianco Puro, its a powder and disinfenctant, I use about 2 tbsp per wash and wash at 60degrees.
Thanks for the info! I'm currently using Allen's naturally as suggested on the Fuzzi Bunz website, but it's too expensive to have shipped to Italy!
You don't have any problems with your front loader and cloth nappies, do you? I was reading that it's better to have a top loader for cloth, but as I remember in Italy most machines are front loaders.

That's a good question. I don't know. I know several people who've used them here in the States for the first three months after their baby was born and have sworn by them.

Front-loading washers have always gotten our cloth diapers squeaky clean; you just have to usually do 2 cycles (first cold, second hot). The bigger issue here in Italy is not having a dryer. I only brought pocket diapers (Fuzzi Bunz, Wonderoos) and microfiber inserts with us since they are the quickest to dry on the line. I have a huge stash of hemp inserts and dipes that I left at home; they would take 3 days to dry on the line!
BTW, it's cool to see a cloth diaper thread here at expats in Italy. I love talking about cloth diapers!

No laundry service around here for nappies, but then again no cloth nappies in the shops here in Pescara either. I would like to use Allens but you can't get it. We tried one of the baby detergents(bebe I think) and it gave lila a rash but Bianco Puro seems ok. We haven't had any problems with the front loader either. I used to do a prewash but then after my huge electricity bill I tried a wash without and they came out fine so now I don't bother. On the drying, I guess without a dryer you just have to be more organised or buy more nappies!
I'm actually looking quite forward to not having to dump disposable diapers in the big bins in Rome. The city is already sooo dirty and full of garbage, it'll be nice to know I'm not contributing to the garbage with my nappies! I'm also hoping to "convert" some of my Italian friends to cloth and maybe start a service for cloth dipes. I have about 4 different friends who are having babies soon and they all seem to be environmental and economically savvy. We'll see!
I love cloth naps too! They're so addicting!

I don't know if anyone will pick this up this late, or if I should start a new thread, but I have not been able to find Bianco Puro in Rome. I've checked Emmi pui, Super Cose, Pam and Conad. Any suggestions? Yael, where do you get yours in your area? Any other suggestions for a detergent for cloth diapers?
