Hi, we are moving to Treviso (veneto region) this fall and have contacted the international sschool in treviso and they have room for us. We thought we would have our visas by now but the horrific paperwork required by the company is taking longer than we expected. So we decided to com out sept. first, find a place/rent, gather all the necessary paperwork from the company then fly back to SF to apply for our visas in Oct. I really do not want the kids to miss school though and was hoping to start them then take them out around the school holiday when we return in oct. The application asks for your codice fiscale. Now I know you can get this without a visa and was wondering...is it better to just get the number, put it on the application and hope for the best in oct. or tell the school the entire story and pray that they will let the kids start even without our visas yet? I do not like to be dishonest but I have read many sites in which it seems that sometimes when dealing with the italian beauracracy that less information is better.
thanks!

Does the International School have a holiday in October? My daughter's school doesn't but this may be because it is an Italian school. She has no half-terms.

Most private schools only want medical info. and codice fiscale which you should be able to get without your visa's. You can also just get them for the kids to start with if you prefer.

US friends of mine had their kids in school without Visas for a whole school year if this helps.
