Thanks Professoressavanessa. I've got some on the way (let's hope they don't get tied up in the mail.) A 5 pack of Gerber receiving blankets goes for $10 (9.99) in the states and its about the same price for 5 onesies (9.98).

I say Italy needs a Super Target. They have some of the cutest baby stuff...let me know if there is anything you absolutely can't find and I can probably get it while still here in Florida.

Thanks for the offer Giovanna!

A Super Target though, now wouldn't that be grand? Too bad we don't have them here. The hypermarkets here have some baby stuff, but it's really not anything to write home about. We did find one store called Vitababy that doesn't seem to have bad prices - still higher than in the states, but better than Chicco or Pre-Natal.

Carrefour is also having a sale on onesies and neonatal pj's. Oviesse has fleece receiving blankets that are really cute

I was in Oviesse a week ago and they didn't have anything that remotely resembled a receiving blanket - just regular crib blankets. Maybe it depends on the store. Bummer..

If I get a chance, I'll have to hop down to Carrefour - the closest one to here is in Termoli.

Yes the problem with chain stores is that they don't all have the same merchandise and/or sales....

good luck though!

I was in Coin today and saw some tiny bodies for new borns - just basic style. They were on individual hangers which is a sign they would cost above average. I checked the price and they were 30 EURO EACH! Eeker I think it was a particular label (nothing I'd ever heard of) which upped the price, but they really were just bob standard bodies which the baby would surely grow out of in weeks.

I'd say that sounds like Petite Bateau, but I'm assuming you would have heard of them? They are sky high and French but really cute and good quality. Real lux baby stuff! Otherwise it could be be Twiddy which is Coin's own brand, but not normally that sort of price!

Zeta has some nice clothes too. It is a small boutique almost of kids stuff, but with prices lower than almost anywhere else. I think they are a french store, but not sure.

I looked in Zara yesterday and saw a 2-pack of "bodies" for €9.90. They had all white but also ones with prints, like you could wear in the summer just by themselves. The pack seemed pretty thick, so I don't think they were as thin as the Gerber onesies in the states. My kids are older (9 & 7) but I've been pretty impressed with Zara's quality and prices, at least on the basics.

One more price update - a 7-pack (days of the week, very cute) at H&M for €20. These were the thin type I'm used to..

Yesterday I found Petit Bateau onsies, two for 9 euros at Coop. This is a great price for this brand. Back in January they had this promotion going on as well.
