We are moving to Trieste this fall for new jobs. Our son is currently in a 0-15kg car seat, which will likely still fit him by the time we move.

Can we bring this seat (Graco Snugride) when we move to Italy? Obviously it doesn't have an EU sticker on it - and Graco doesn't offer the same model for sale in Europe. We obviously want to comply with EU regulations, but are wondering if it's going to be a problem for us.

The other option is to buy a new seat which exists on both side of the Atlantic (say, for example, Britax Marathon) - but if we do so in North America we won't have the EU sticker. Will this matter?

I think you'll be fine without the EU sticker. It would be very unusual to run into an Italian cop that meticulous. Not impossible I guess, but rare.

I know the US military folks here, many of whom have young children, use their US car seats with no problems.
