I'm thinking about spending the summer in Rome with my kids ages 4 and 7 (as a prelude to a more long-term move, perhaps) and am wondering what kind of activitiies I might find there to keep them busy a few days a week, maybe a camp or summer school or sports or art program. They'll be going to Italian school here for a few months before we go, which I hope will be OK, esp since they're so adapatable at this. I know most people leave for the summer, but surely there is something for those that are there for part of the time.

Both Marymount, St. George's and Overseas international schools run summer day camps during June-July. You can find info on http://www.wantedinrome.com or contact the schools directly. Its too early for them to have this year's schedule ready but rest assured they exist. Also in Florence I know of the Canadian Island program both in town (English lessons for kids) and at a castle in the outskirts of the city http://www.canadianisland.com

I’m 22 years old educational science /teacher education student and qualified dance teacher from Finland and I’m looking for a part-time job as a nanny for the summer period around 15th May to 11th June. I'm also free to babysit in the evenings of August (+weekends if needed). If you're going to be in Rome in this period I'd be happy to nanny your kids and organise all kind of activities, visits, play dates etc. I'm also able for evening/night babysitting if you wish to go out for dinner for example.

I've been working in Rome also before and also this time I'll continue with the family I've been before. Unfortunately they don't need any help before around mid June and I'll attend a language school in Rome so I would be free to babysit / tutor for that mentioned month every day after 2pm (also weekends or nights if needed). If there's not need for every day I'm open for all kind of suggestions, working a couple of days/evenings/nights per week is also fine.

I have a lot of experience working with children aged 9 months to teenagers and I have experience working abroad also in UK and other parts of Italy, as well as in my home country Finland of course. I have been working in elementary schools, as a summer camp leader, hotel entertainer, music and dance teacher, nanny etc. - excellent references to provide if needed! I speak native Finnish, excellent English, good German, good Swedish and conversational Italian. I'm responsible, very independent, social active non-smoker with driving license. I'll live in Monte Sacro but travelling around Rome is not a problem for me by public trasport.

If you're interested in this kind of babysit offer please contact me asap at naukkarinenheidi@hotmail.com for more details, full CV and picture, thank you!
