i have a chandelier i brought from canada, can i just connect it up and switch on or will the wires not take the load??

You would need to install 220V bulbs. The wiring should be fine for running chandelier lights- normally they don't pull a lot of amps like say, a searchlight.

cheers ears, i had a feeling you would be the first to answer, i can always rely on you.

my hubby will be pleased, he now has to fit the chandelier in the kitchen, it's 36 inches by 18 inches, just a small job!!!!!!!
