I finally connected with Telecom yesterday to change my services / signing up for the Teleconomy Internazionale service which provides free calls to USA, Canada and Europe for a 10 Euro a month fee.

If anyone else has this service ...can you tell me why Telecom's website recommends attaching the Teleconomy No problems - or some such service that provides for free calls within Italy?

If the first service provides free calls to all of Europe - why would someone need the other service?

By the way...I could not sign up for this service online - no matter how hard I tried. They kept saying I had to call the 187 number!

I've got this service. AFAIK calls to Italy are not included in the package. So it can work out cheaper to call a friend in America rather than a neighbour.

So, Delina, if my local calls within Italy are more than 10 Euro a month (the cost of the Teleconomy No Problem plan-giving free calls within Italy)...it would be best to add this plan to the Internazionale plan?

Does anyone have the Teleconomy Zero-Zero plan offered by Telecom? I don't really understand the details...they are below.

I spend about 25 Euro a month calling local cellphones from my landline because my cellphone does not always work from inside my house. So, would like a plan to cut those costs down.

Chiama e videochiama verso fisso e verso mobile a 0 €cent/min

I can confirm what Delina says, Telecom Int. is only for calls outside Italy. Recently the service has improved in that the discounts to cell phones in other countries have been increased, which has reduced my bills by a good €50/mth maybe more - int. cell calls are the bulk of my calls.

I also get so many free local call minutes anyway, which I just about use. But it sounds like it would be worth using the plan you talk about if the cost is less than your normal call charges.
