The next meeting will be on Saturday June the 2nd from 3 pm to 6pm and will be held at a local hotel (Villa Ugolini) just outside of Cingoli (central Le Marche) in conjunction with a ‘Marche’ wine tasting session.There will also be a selection of local cheeses to try.

Come and sample some of the local wines (no obligation to buy), meet some new people and swap some books and share some of your local knowledge and or experiences!

Please could all of those intending to come confirm by May 31st.

Wow, this sounds nice but its a hike for me from Venice. We have a little group of friends here too where we swap books and I myself end up with lots of them from clients leaving them behind in our rental apartments (www.venicerentals.com). Perhaps one day I will take a train trip there or if anyone is coming to Venice, I would be glad to meet you to donate some books to this cause. Many thanks for your posting. The hotel is named after the family of a previous owner so you never know.........these Italian families are big!

Guests are always welcome at any of the meetings and you can always swap books by post which is very cheap when sending with in Italy by the special book rate.......'pieghi di libri'........about 2.50 Euros for upto 5kilos of books (off the top of my head), but I do have a photocopy of the rates if anyone is interested.

How was it. I didn't think I was going to be able to go, but as fate would have it, my son and I just happened take a drive and wound up in Congoli. Walked about and found the park. Didn't remember any of the meeting details. Figures.

Got lots of books and mags, so will keep my eyes open for future gigs.

The group meets every 6 to 8 weeks and exchange all sorts of information on all aspects of living in Italy as well as swapping books and dvd's etc. There will also be a wine and cheese tasting in conjunction with the meeting.

We had over 30 people at our last meeting and the numbers seem to rise each time. People are from all over Le Marche, some of whom are here permanently like us and some who are out on a regular basis and have holiday homes or houses they are restoring.

Hope you can make it but you can always swap books by post as well.
