Below is a poster for the horse show in San Venanzo on Sept 1. The show will begin at 6:30, continue for a while, break for dinner, then resume again at 9:30. The horses are similiar to the Lippizanner stallions but they don't do the dramatic kicks and jumps. The cost, altho not listed, is €8.

I never miss it and never fail to enjoy it more than almost anything except the music festival which starts end of August. Come on up and have some mozzarella and see the most splendid horses ever and shop vendors from all of Italy.

Those horses are Andalusians and they're trained in "high school" which is more like dancing than the"airs above the ground" that the Lippizaners do. It's beautiful!

Wow!! Barb and Judith, those shows look absolutely fantastic, my 14 year old horse-crazy daughter would just love to go but I very much doubt if this year it will be possible,however if they are annual events then next year will be a date in our diary for sure.
