How to register for Expat Talk Forums

Registration to become a member is free.  We require registration to make our forum a safe place free from frequent spam attacks and problem posters. The information that you give during registration will not be passed on to anyone else.  Your password is yours, we at Expat Talk have no way to access it.

Please follow the steps below:

Click on Login/Join at the top right of the main Expat Talk Forum page  

A new page will open which is the Groupee Login.

If you are not a Groupee member already, click I do not have a Groupee account.
The window will now change for you to be able to register.

You must use a valid email address for your Groupee ID (Email).  It should be one that you know you can receive emails on.  You also must agree to the TOS.  If you would like to not have to log in each time you visit the site, click on Remember Me for expattalk.com

Next a new screen will open that says your registration was successful..

Click on Continue near the bottom on the left.  Your Expat Talk registration page will pop up. Even if you were an old member when we had the PHP Board, click No as old registrations have been removed.  Next click Continue.

 

Now on to your profile. You need to fill out your Display Name which is what will show on the forums. You also need to put in your location. This should be where you are now. The reason for this requirement is so that
we can give correct information for your area, be it in Italy or in another country as each town and each consulate may have their own set of rules.  Fill in as much of this page as you feel comfortable with. When completed, click Submit.

You should now get a Welcome screen.

At this point, check your email for your verification email. This comes from the Groupee account support_bot@groupee.com (make sure you allow this email address in your security/spam settings)  In the email, click on the link for verification. You will get a new window like this.

 

At this point you are all set.  Just click on Login/Join on the forum, select I have a groupee account in the window, enter your email that you used to sign up and your password, click remember me and then LOGIN and you will be able to post, see pictures and get to know others who like you have chosen to live in Italy.
